So, last week I downloaded Dojo 0.9 beta.  I got the 8MB gzipped tar from their download directory.  I haven’t had a chance to take a look at what’s in it yet, but I’ll get to that soon.

I tried to get an friend who shall remainn nameless to do a logo, but I don’t think he’s had much time for it. So, I finally made a logo myself.

I’m really no good with Photoshop, so I had to learn a few things to make the logo. Actually, I made quite a few logos. So, first I started thinking that since Elitizmr is a site about the Web 2.0 Elite, I better make the logo Web 2.0-ish. I searched for ideas and found The Logos of Web 2.0. So, I had some ideas about fonts and such. I ended up choosing the Bauhaus 93 font, which is similar to the Newsgator font. Next, I found the Web 2.0 Colour Palette. From it I chose Wink Dark, Meebo Blue, Basecamp Green, and Slashdot Grey. Finally, I noticed that quite a few Web 2.0 sites have beta or gamma in their logos, ala Flickr. I then decided to have logos using the Greek alphabet. Put it all together, and you have the new Elitizmr logos.

I want Elitizmr to be a veritable who’s who of the Web 2.0 elite. I want to list all of the elite people associate with Web 2.0. Sort of like a Wikipedia for Web 2.0 elite. I’ll have all of the info on the Web 2.0 elite. Things such as blogs, Flickr profile, Upcoming profile, etc. One compact corner of the interweb which holds all Web 2.0 elite data.
So, I put up a wiki. Since that’s where I want to keep this list of Web 2.0 elite. Having a wiki will enable a community to keep it updated. So, information should never go stale.

I’ll keep this blog updated with information about what’s happening on Elitizmr. At this point, I’m not quite sure what’s going to happen with Elitizmr. We’ll find out in the near future.

I bet you’re wondering what Elitizmr means. Well, I guess it means something like ‘Web 2.0 Elitism’. The name Elitizmr came up when I was chatting with a coworker (who will remain anonymous unless he decides that he doesn’t want to be anonymous and posts a comment here). We were talking about something that I saw that slightly disturbed me. It was a blog post with a photo and the person who posted it had all the names of the people in the photo, except two. I was also noticing that those two people probably aren’t too well known. I thought it was slightly rude to post all the people’s names except two (unless they had specifically requested not to have their names posted). So, to me and my coworker, that seemed like elitism. Dictionary.com says ‘elitism’ means, ‘The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.’ Oh, also, all this removal of the last vowel and replacing ’s’ with ‘z’ is just silly. So, of course, I just had to do it!
